Whereas quality control is the process by which the focus is given to fulfilling quality requirements, quality assurance focuses on providing confidence that quality requirements will be fulfilled. This confidence is twofold: internal and external. The former controls in-house workmanship whereas the latter is reported to customers, government agencies, regulators, certifiers, and other third parties based on performance on site. Concrete works compaction: ensuring the grade as specified, concrete finish.
Excavation / back filling: levels as per drawing.
Shuttering, formwork: line, level, verticality using  plumb bob.
Steel reinforcement : dimension, size, spacing, arrangement.
Blockwork: line level, material approval, openings.
Asphalt laying : visual inspection of levels.
